Exercise 1.4 – Managing file system with Web Console

Formatting a logical volume using Cockpit

1. Login to Cockpit
2. Click on Storage
3. Create a Volume Group
   
4. Click on the volume group which you created earlier under Volume group.
5. Click on create a new logical volume and create a new one.
6.  On the Filesystem subtab, Click on Format and give the mounting point and type (XFS,EXT4,…)

Mounting a file system using Cockpit

1. On the Filesystem subtab, click the value of Mount Point.
2. Click on the Mount tab.

Unmounting a file system using Cockpit

1. On the Filesystem subtab, click the value of Mount Point. 
2. Click on the Mount tab.
